pretty much. Stuff rusts here, but at a very slow rate. People from califronia consider the cars too rusty and those from the east coast will have a hard time finding the rust.
THE TABLES HAVE TURNED.
I need another project like I need a hole in my head, but it is nice to see mention of cars that aren't 4+ states and several time zones away from me.

If I were a third world war lord this would be my car of choice

I dunno what the hell goes on in my brain. I was looking for rally cars.

Eleven months ago, I picked up a '93 S10, that was originally from Washington. In Wisconsin, it would be considered "rust-free", even though there are a few small spots of surface rust and some bubbling around one corner of the windshield.
Oh yeah, it's got 200k on it. The truck it replaced had half the miles and several perforated panels.

I've lived in Chicago, Rochester NY, Kansas City, Philly, CT and South Carolina. Spent some time in Baltimore, England, France, Singapore and others for business. I've learned is that people always grouse about the weather in their area. Recently I learned that people in SoCal even grouse about the lack of weather.

so true. most areas have something redeeming about their climate and life is a lot better if you focus on enjoying that instead of bitching about the rest.
except Rochester, NY. Even the pleasant summer isn't enough to redeem those winters. NEVER AGAIN.

Yeah man. Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo, Syracuse all have about the same cloudiness as Seattle + or - 10%, but have tons more snow according to some online searches. So i don't get all the complaining about the weather. Give me a few years, maybe I'll join in. :-)
Anyway, Rochester.. Wow. The quadfecta of bad weather; High wind, Cold, Snow, and no sun. All with the benefit of a collapsing economy.
I must politely ask you to stop posting here. I'm moving to Tacoma in 19 days and already this thread is detrimental to my marriage.
My Triumph GT6 spent its life in Seattle and is rust free. Still not sure how that happened though.
I'm not sure about heaven, but there are definitely some interesting cars here. I have found that certain cars here are priced a lot higher than in other markets, and others are priced less. What helps a lot is to like what isn't popular, or is considered "rednecky" to your typical tech worker.
For instance, Subarus are popular, and therefore the prices are astronomical. My wife jokes about having our family in Florida drive one up from down there.
On the other hand, I have found that older BMW's and F-bodies are cheap and, as expected, pretty rust-free for the most part.
This thing is cool.

Is that an old Subaru?
