on a pair of UGG boots for my wife. Good thing I love her or else I'd never done that. She gave me the ole "please don't buy me a gift this year" bit but I've heard tall black UGG boots at least 20 times in the last week. I almost went to the mall to buy them this morning subconsciously.
What are you getting your better half this Christmas?

I spent $650 on my wife this year. A disc road bike, trainer, and cyclocomputer.
I've never been good at the sentimental gifts.
$200 for some boots...do they have motorized wheels? Rocket thrusters? Magnets that let you walk on metal ceilings? They're at least fireproof right?
trip to cowboys playoff game (might turn into a fly and drive), some light kitchen renovation, some work on the 986, garmin equivalent fitbit watch and a few small things.

Single. So nothing. I've spent less than $50 on gifts this year. I'll probably take my mother out to dinner, so that'll be $100+, but otherwise I won't be doing much to add to holiday comsumerism this year. Planning to buy a new bike frame in the beginning of Jan, so that'll be $2000 or so... plus another $2000 to finish building it in Feb/Mar.
wall mount grooming box for the new barn, storage hard drive and a new keyboard after she broke her old one...
you can buy a lot of knock-off ugg boots for $200 thats what my wife does.
im making my wife a wine rack out of an old fence post and some hardware and also getting her some new boots, cuz her 17 other pairs just arent enough
she said she didnt want anything (yea... not falling for that one haha) but then tells me she spent ~$250 on me, so i had to get something

Well, I have some small things in the basket, but I need to take an emergency lunchtime errand to find something bigger. Wish me luck.

Our mall opens at 8am. Was there first thing this morning. No one was there. I parked at 8:00am and was out of there by 8:15am exactly.
I wish you luck at lunchtime.
SWMBO wears the much cheaper (still expensive for ugly mukluks) Bear Paws that look just like Uggs and hold up as well or better. Sad that I know that.
She's getting a 36" strand of 8mm pearls and matching studs, a 2 year subscription to Southern Living, and I may brave the mall and Victoria Secret to pick up some overpriced undies, the practical kind not the "romantic" kind, she's left some not so subtle hints that she needs to restock.
Don't feel too bad. I'm about to brave the goddamned outlet mall to buy a $300 "pot." It's the only thing she wanted.

Does it cook things with a built-in nuclear power source?

but cheaper, from Costco.
She got me a used copy of Wreck-It Ralph.
The rest of cards against humanity.
I'm gonna jack up our saggy floors so we can put in hardwood floors once it is level. That's all she wanted.
And whoppers in the stocking.

Wifey is getting new tires for her Highlander. $900! I love her so much that I want to keep her safe.
Okay! Okay! She wanted a Lifeproof for her iPad. Got that too!
Wish I got by with spending just $200.
Got mine a tablet and a new desk chair. All she wanted was the chair, but she loved the tablet.
A new alternator for her Jeep. She loves her Wrangler and after 185K the original alt is tired. I'll install it on Christmas for her.
Got her some winter hats too. Things to keep her warm are always winners.
In reply to Rob_Mopar:
I first read that as I'll install it next Christmas for her
no legitimately wrapped gifts this year between us.
I promised to get my butt in gear and finish some unfinished projects around the house which was what she wanted, and theres talks of a new mattress that we would both benefit from, and recliner for me.
yeah i guess her car needs new brakes too.
