In case you're bored and browsing Netflix like was an hour and a half ago. Born 2 Race. It came up as a suggestion on Netflix and I clicked on it cause I was bored and it had cars on the cover. With the dumb title I was expecting a lame Fast and Furious copy but the reviews made it sound interesting. It turned out to be one of the most realistic car-oriented movies I've seen. To call the plot predictable and cheesy would be an understatement but that fades into the background behind the car stuff.

I watched that movie purely because the final race was filmed out by where I lived when working my last job. I have driven or ridden my motorcycle down all of those roads. The Baroness drove by on one of the days they were shooting and saw all the incredible cars.

Not instant view. Not sure if it's worth a spot in my valuable DVD cue.
It was on instant last night?
The only thing that really bothered me was the main 'bad guy' car was a manual. Now, I'm all in favor of manual transmissions, but this was a Mustang put together for 1/4 mile work. Other than that, it wasn't the worst car movie I've ever seen.
Almost completely unrelated, in the opening sequence of The Great Muppet Caper (which I watched with the kids) the jewel thieves make their getaway in what appears to be an early Lotus Esprit.

I don't know if anything can be worse than that. I still have nightmares about it.
Watch "Faster" and then "Fastest". They are documentaries about MotoGP, narrated by Ewan McGregor and they are pretty interesting.
Or, Hell, Dust to Glory. THAT'S a good 'car' movie.

It keeps popping up on my instant view. I also saw it as a F&F clone, but even worse. Hmm maybe I can sacrifice 1.5-2hrs to the good of the car-gods.

Sadly this is possibly the best car movie to come out in my lifetime (not counting nonfiction stuff).
