Even had to drive to hers attorney to get served my own papers.
Yay.
2020, suck it. berkeleyers.
Been there, done that. Ended up much better off after the Ex was gone. Take some time to be single, enjoy life and do some of the fun things that you wouldn't let yourself do before.
It sucks, but you know the old joke. Q. Why is divorce so expensive? A. Because it's worth it. True words and good luck to the future.
Note. Trainee wife lasted less than a year. Graduated to the deluxe model and been happily married for 21 and counting.

Now I am pondering if current wife should be told she is the "deluxe model". . .. . . ;-)
*steps onto soap box*
The terms of a divorce should be signed/detailed before a marriage is even created.
Pre-nups should be the default, extra work should be required to waive them.
*runs away*

Yeah, or some sort of auto-default prenup. We have auto-default "wills" if someone passes away without a will.
We are doing the single attorney divorce. At least that is the current plan. I don't have the energy to fight and neither does she.

I was about to drive away with a Sport Edition after a 6 year test drive, and aborted just before signing the paperwork. We had had a "purchase agreement", but I was able to get my deposit back. Happily, my perfectly optioned Deluxe was available at another lot. I still don't understand how no-one else snapped her up for so long, but I thank god for that often.
Yep. I was in your shoes just over a year ago. Luckily mine was easy. We agreed on everything, we filled out forms online, and I went to court alone with a stack of signed papers. Best decision she and I have probably ever made in each of our lives. I won't say you'll feel amazing right afterwards. But you'll feel better and better about it the more time goes by. Eventually you'll just sometimes wonder to yourself "Why did I let myself be miserable for so long?" and it will be no more than a passing thought.
That combined with my cat dying last year has made 2020 relatively awesome for me. You'll be finishing the year on a high note for sure.
Sorry it didn't work for you guys but as others have said usually you're better off afterwards. Let me know if you need anything even it's just to drink a whiskey for you tonight.
It's a rough go, you'll learn a lot about what you miss from back when things didn't suck, about communication and what you wish that you had said. It will get better. Some things will always hurt and sting a bit, growth often isn't without pain.

Change my mind.

So basically to put this in to Ford lingo you went from an Eddy Bauer edition to A Limited Edition.

That's where we are. There's a few passages that need a redo like alimony just no, and I ain't paying E36 M3 towards her attorney fees and court costs.

If we are going there.....what about the XL Fleet models?
Always preferred the XLT package. Nicely appointed but not over the top looks and less things to go wrong. Lower maintenance with only the options you really need but still classy enough to go to a high priced joint but is equally at home at the local burger joint. I think that would best describe that option package.
