If you really like the Pixar stuff, definitely check out some of the Hayao Miyazaki/ Studio Ghibli films. They are some of the best movies, animated or not, and the Pixar crew references them as influential a lot.
My favorites include Spirited Away, Nausicaa, and Grave of the Fireflies.

Agreed, although of the three you mentioned I've only seen Spirited Away. Need to find the other two. I also like Howl's Castle ( I think that's Ghibli?) but it wasn't as good as Spirited. Man, that was an amazing movie.
Need to see Big Hero 6. Need to buy Incredibles.

my love of cartoon movies started and ended in 1986 when i saw Transformers: the Movie in the theater on opening night, then proceeded to rent it on VHS about 30 times in the first 3 months after it appeared in the local video store... i've seen others, but none have come close to the awesomeness contained in that one 90 minute masterpiece..

I quoted that E36 M3 from memory.

Sorry Optimus Prime dying traumatized you that badly.
nah, i think it was when Spike said "OH E36 M3!!" as he was getting swallowed by Unicron that made the biggest impression on me... and Dare to be Stupid playing as the Junkions did their thing...
Optimus died doing the one thing he was good at: kicking Decepticon ass after every other Autobot had their asses handed to them, then dying because he got distracted by one of the younger ones just as he was going in to finish Megatron off... just a typical day at the office for Optimus Prime..
Having kids are a good excuse to watch and buy the movies. After they are grown that's what grandkids are for.

Lol. You're not alone.
I watched "The Gruffalo" sans-kid yesterday.
That is truly a beautiful story. I just saw it this weekend on Nutflix.
I have fond memories of watching the original Heavy Metal back in the day. No a kid's cartoon but still animated!
