Maybe I'm spoiled, but this time of the year I get antsy for a vacation. We're heading to Delaware (Fenwick)for a week of beach front bliss in two weeks, but man I'm itching to head out now.
Anyone else got any good summer vacation plans?

My wife is in grad school. So, no vacations for us (me).
My boss actually told me I need to take a vacation though. And I think I agree. with the nice weather, it's hard to sit in the office all day.
I'm gonna be in Ontario from late June to late July. Might not do much vacation stuff but it's a break from the heat and work at least.
Don’t fly Spirit.
I just got back from Tampa—I was there from Friday night to yesterday to see Game 5 of the Stanley Cup. It was AMAZING. Saw the ocean (well, the gulf) for the first time out there. Then it all went to hell when Spirit delayed our first flight back (after delaying the outbound flight by 1.5 hours), and after we ran to make boarding on the connecting flight—since we didn’t have any notifications of any delays—we find out they hadn’t started boarding yet. 2 minutes later, it is delayed for 3 hours. 20 minutes after that, it is cancelled. Yay. So now I’m in Atlantic City with my brother and BIL and a new friend who was at the game and from the same suburb as BIL with options of taking a train to DC, train or car to Philly and leaving at 6AM the following morning, or waiting in AC for 24 hours since there is only one flight a day out of there. Oh, and Spirit wouldn’t provide a hotel room since it was weather related.
We chose Philly, had an Uber driver take us there straight to a bar. Watched the Blackhawks do Blackhawk things, celebrated Timo’s final game with some Flyer Fans, and went home with a friend of a friend who let us crash at his place. Woke up this morning at 4:00AM. I may need some coffee.
Either going to fly to Portland later in the year, or take another roadtrip to Nashville to visit an old buddy of mine.
Either way, much debauchery should ensue, since I'll be taking my roommate (also recently divorced) and my buddy that lives out there (Nashville) just recently got out of a long-term relationship.
Strange and not getting arrested are the only things we will be going for.
First baby due in a couple days, I hope she gets here on time because I am really antsy to start my 3 weeks I am taking off work. My brain is already half checked out here. Obviously going to hang around the house but hope to get the Accent ready to sell, detail the Mazda5 and install a new axle and lowering springs sometime in those 3 weeks.
Also going to the Outer Banks at the end of August for a week with my wife's family.
In reply to Spoolpigeon:
Haha. Awesome. Growing in WV/NC I would have never dreamed I'd be visiting the Yankee beaches of MD/DE/NJ but I must say that Delaware beaches are super nice.
Going to Fontana Village/Deal's Gap next weekend for 2 days.
Taking the last week in July off to head out there again for 5 days.
It's noon local time and I'm on my second Bloody Mary and we're watching Despicable Me giggling like idiots. Ahhhh
I sold off a vacation to get ahead on things and took a few days off for who knows what. I can't remember. I'll probably need to use the rest of my days off to make up for a call off or something.
Just finished a week long rambling trip with the boys from Texas to Glacier National Park and then to Michigan to pick up the girls to head to the cottage in the UP for the rest of the summer. I love summer vacation.
Lets see if this works. (It didn't. I tried to embed a map.)
5 people, 15 days, 9 states, 2 countries, 3451+ miles driving, 54+ hours driving, 290 gallons of gas through the truck, plus 5 days on a boat on Lake Superior. It's going to be epic!
I'm looking forward to it.
My vacation will be in August and consist of me hurling myself down a ski mtn on a very expensive bike that looks like it's missing an engine. And between now and then I can look forward to 6 weeks of intense training to ready my weak-ass self for this privilege.
An interim vacation in July is looking like the Pittsburgh Vintage Grind Prix with the Spitfire club. And somehow I need to figure out how to carry my road bike on a Spitfire...
I have two weeks. I could take one week now just to catch up on work around home, the other in the fall to finish work around here before winter... and never put a berkeleying dent in it. Ain't had a real vacation in years.

If you live in an area where others go for vacation, what does vacation look like?
We're skipping our usual summer vacation this year in favor of two and half weeks in Thailand in January. We are heading to BC in a couple of weeks, but that's just for a few days.

The same as it does to people who live where others don't go for vacation - "different."
Edit: Actually that's not quite right. For most people in those places, it's more like "exactly the same since you can't afford to travel."
