It does not seem to hurt Wawa's business. People just pull up, hand the card to the attendant and go in the store. It aggravates the E36 M3 out of people waiting for a pump, however.

I got a talking to from an attendant in Oregon once. Told the guy I knew about the law, he just wasn't anywhere to be seen, and I didn't feel like waiting. Next time, do your job faster.

I think that was most surprising. I went inside to use the facilities, and it was empty. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. In Canada most service stations seem to have more things on offer than Costco.
