Do y'all ever have one of those days where everything go to crap.
This morning started off bad. My brother was bringing my little trailer back after borrowing it. He was supposed to be there at 6:45, but was late, which made me late for everything for the rest of the day. Not a big deal, but that was the best thing that happened today.
First job, an easy swap of the motor/gear assembly in a ambulance door at a hospital. Should have taken less than a half hour. Nothing went right, and 1.5 hours later I finely got the control to recognize the new motor and encoder and work properly.
Job 2, repair the lock assembly on an emergency room door at another hospital 2.5 hours away from the first one. Once again, nothing went right. For starters, the freaking door weighed a billion pounds, and had to be unhung to be repaired. To make matters worse, the wiring and power supplys that were supposed to already be installed by another contractor were missing. So, another bust. That means a return trip.
Job 3. Another royal pain in the ass at another different hospital. The distributor sent a power door operator with the wrong output shaft. That meant disassembling both the old operator and the new one to cobble together the parts to make one good one. A 45 minute job took 2 hours. It can't get any worse can it?
Why yes, yes it can.
For the first time in 26 years I got pulled for speeding. 81 in a 70. $135 in fines. Just lovely. Someone please shoot me before it gets even worse.
Hell at this point I'm scared to go out to the shop and work on something for fear of burning the place to the ground.

I think I'll go to bed now.
Thanks for listening and sorry for the rambling epistle.

Doctor Luke prescribes more beer and more titties.
In today's economy I'm not sure I'd take a day off from work, unless I REALLY had to. Sure hope you are paid by the hour and not by the job.

That's another crappy thing. I own the place. My son, who works for me, had a pretty crappy day too. I'm thinking over all it was a net loss.
I have had those days and I completely feel your pain. By the end of the day you just want to curl up in a dark place and wait for it all to go away.
It is just an opportunity to test your paitence with the things you cannot change. Some days, nothin's easy.

I've had days like that. man, it sucks. The good thing is, at least for me, life is better for at least a few weeks.

Ah, the joys of being self employed. Them Outsiders don't see this when they fantasize about having their own business. But it happens. Some weeks I make 12.00. Fortunately, not too many.
Don't you touch that race car tonght. I mean it.

Been on the phone with Comcast for 4 hours after they messed up our cable and internet. This was after two trips to the store as well. Not fun.
if it makes you feel better i forgot to buy enough drywall corner bead and had to go from the boonies back into civilization to the home depot today to get more, then we didn't even get far enough along to need it before the day was over.
In reply to Curmudgeon:
Wouldn't dream of it. The only thing I've touched tonight is the TV remote and the computer. Amazingly enough, they both still work.
Here ya go, if Billy's Balloon doesn't make you feel better, nothin' will.

OK, Don Hertzfelt is a little twisted.
Thanks, I think.
You can try my thought process- By having all those things go sideways today, all the E36 M3 has happened. Instead of berkeleying up 3 or 4 days, its all gone now. Tomorrow will be flawless.
Wow. I don't think I will look at balloons the same way ever again.
sometimes bed is just a safer place to be
