I was still 3 years away from being born.

My dad was racing Formula Fords at Mid-Ohio at the time though.

I was 11, had a second hand light blue 10 speed Schwin and spent time in my dads 75 Ventura "Driving" and shifting gears.

In 1982 I turned 16, got my license and started driving the crap out of the family cars; a rusty POS '74 VW bug and a 1970 VW camper van that we drove from beautiful Lansing Michigan to California and back that summer.

It was kind of a pivitol year in my life because I decided then I wanted to live in Northern California eventually.

I was two years away from buying my first CRX - which was one of the first on the road in the Atlanta area.

The DD at the time was a '74 Fiat 128SL - purchased new.

That car replaced a '68 Sprite Mk IV...........

I was riding a Schwinn Scrambler around the yard and amassing a huge collection of Hotwheels, Matchboxes, and Kenner Fast1s... oh, and Stompers and Rough Riders - even had the Stomper Pulling Sled!

Unfortunately pics are long gone. Between 76 and 82 I knocked up my high school girlfriend, got married, finished High school, had a son, joined the army, got divorced (why I don't have said pics), remarried, my oldest daughter was born in 82 and on my way to my 4th duty station in Fairbanks, Alaska. A lot of that time (2 1/2 years) I was overseas (Korea) and couldn't drive (except the army jeep assigned to me). Was either more into partying (read wasting money on the opposite sex ) or couldn't afford cool cars because of other obligations. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

In 1982 I was not even an idea (well, I guess I can't prove that) and was still 10 years away from production.

My brother was born, though.
