On our way home from sanibel. Decided to see if my old sorry but can still put 10 hours down fast. 8 hours in with a gass and food stop I had put down 590 miles. Then we hit Macon and rain and the next 2.5 hours of Atlanta. (How do you people love there? Seriously!)
Overall averaged 63mph for 10.5 hours with stop and go killing the average! So who needs a transit driver? Just need comfy seat and ac
I probably do, although you don't like Honda products
I've got a couple of life-things up in the air right now that are tying up future-planning things. But, I'm keeping your contact info on speed-dial. Of course, hhaase has also been making noises about needing transit assist... how well do you fit in an Mk1 MR2?
In reply to Bobzilla:
Pfft...lightweight. I do 1500-mile round trips(11-12 hours each way) in a weekend.
And I'm really looking forward to not having to drive them anymore!
Yesterday, I knocked down 500 miles in 7 hours. Not all that impressive until you consider...
We drove from ATL (left at 1:30pm) to Kissimmee, FL.
It rained...no, poured...no wait, deluge...for hours.
I was driving a minivan loaded with my wife, 3 kids and enough E36 M3 for a 2.5 week stay in Disney.
Well the 17 hour trip from sanibel to Indy turned into 19.75 hours. Thanks to Atlanta, Chattanooga and Nashville for adding on that extra almost 3 hours. Wife did 4 hours leaving me with the other 13. Yay! Good to be home. Now to jump into bed, get 5 hours of sleep and then drive an hour to Grissom for day one of a 2 day divisional!
All that sitting just to see this.

Atlanta is great you just can;t drive through there around rush hour or anywhere near it.
Don't drive North thru Atlanta on a Friday. Just don't.
Also imagine how much worse it was when interstate 85 was closed.
I have done the whole Tampa to South Jersey thing in a Uhaul with only stops for gas (lots of gas), food, and toilet breaks. Did it in 20 hours and then spent the next day trying to recover from the seats and ride of the POS uhaul rented me
I had it planned to hit Atlanta st noon. Rain and crashes just north of Macon killed that idea. So we hit it a little after 1.
