That sucks. Glad it wasn't worse.
I've hit one. Dead center on a E350 at 60 mph. The deer got up and ran off, but I doubt he ran far. It did $6500 in damage to the van. Grill, hood, condenser, trans and oil cooler, radiator both fenders, and all the lights on the front. It was a big deer and I didn't even have time to tap the brakes.
My son, on the other hand has hit 5. He hates the things. I've told him time and again that bullets are cheaper than cars, but he hasn't gotten the point yet.

I live in the country.
I know it's spring.
Deer live in my hood.
Minor damage to the Cruze, new hood, grille, headlamp mount panel and maybe condenser. No airbag deployment but I did get a service warning post accident.
Arrived at work an hour later than planned. All in all a normal Monday.
Looks like MN ave? If so, I can't even count how many times I've almost killed Bambi and/or myself on that road.

Let me count off.
6 incidents. 3 no damage bumps. 1 missed deer, hit tree, totaled. 2 damaging hits, second one totaled the car. 0 dead deer.
I applaud my former coworker. He has special nuisance permits that allow him to take multiple per week.

Mercury drive about two miles from the curve. I live on MN East of the curve.
Fender is FUBAR as well. I was surprised at that a fair bit!
Note to self: don't get all up in Quasi's grill.
Glad it wasn't worse, it could have been SO much worse.

I'm fairly confident here in PA that deer collisions are comp coverage, not collision, and low comp deductibles don't cost much. I think mine's either zero or $250. Raising it to a lot didn't save much insurance premium the last I looked at it. And deer collisions in PA where I go (suburbia, mountains, farm country) are a when, not if, occurrence.

I've taken out 2 with a Lexus. Both cost me over a thousand in deductible.
In Arkansas, Road Kill Deer is legal if you call the state and tell them. Fresh Road Kill Deer rarely lasts longer than a few hours before someone picks it up for dinner.
They fall under Comprehensive in Michigan as well. $100 deductible and the DRP facility that I take it to frequently waives the deductible on these things.
Poor Tom definitely looks worse for the wear, he needs a stiff one to help calm the nerves.
Ardbeg anyone?

That Peaty madness has gotten ahold of you eh?
You took it's head clean off? Man, remind me not to owe you money.

It owed me nothing but it did get in my way!
The head is folded up neatly underneath,
The Cruze is at the body shop and the estimator called.
Guess the cost of repairs?
Hood, Fender R, Front Bumper, Grilles, Headlamps, Mount Panel, Paint etc.
$4700
EDIT: "Price is Right" rules, closest without going over.
In reply to QuasiMofo:
Three panels @ $1500 for a total of $4500.
Full retail value is probably less than $7k. Could be close to total if they will total at 70%.
$3434 was the estimated number
In reply to QuasiMofo:
That's only two hundred less than Weary's Viper!?
Well Bo, this IS a Cruze and not something as common as a Viper.

Dang, should have gone with $1.00
