I said before that I was interested in an American version of Wheeler Dealers.
Well Discovery definitely Americanized it.

I HATE shows like this. The more idiots like this "scouring the countryside for barns that haven't been opened in 50 years", the fewer sweet old cars for real car guys to find and build.
I hate it.

Plus +1 and Barrett Jackson and stuff on TV everyone thinks their old POS is worth a million dollars now.
I'll reserve final judgement until I see what they do with the cars, but there's a lot of made-for-tv swagger packed into that preview.
Everything Discovery does like this has to have a couple of bikers or it doesn't get aired. I'm beginning to think that maybe the powers that be there are into the kind of stuff Angry Corvair posts in the hotlink thread.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Whew, I thought it was an American version of WD, but seeing that, it's just another "car job" show, just like 2 dozen other shows just like it. the only difference between this one and all the others- this one appears to be more rat than full custom. to each his own.
WD is more about taking a reasonably priced popular car, and mainly fixing it up. More interesting to see a car like a mini being done than another show where they make hot rods.

I think it will be okay, but I do prefer Wheeler Dealers just because of the cars that are on there. So true about the motorcycle or die attitude at Discovery Channel. I can just see writers at Discover Channel sitting in a room saying "OCC worked for a little while, how can we get the same thing from another show".
