This is a customers engine in my uncle's shop right now. He's the man to fix whatever is wrong, as he has nearly a dozen himself.
This one is a small Rumely, at least compared to the 110 Case above.
Love those machines. I used to spend a lot of time at antique engine and tractor shows. The fact that these things still run after 80 -100 years has always fascinated me. I have a couple myself.
This is a 3 hp Jumbo from the 20s. It used to fill the water tower for the town of Summerville SC.

This is a 1.5 hp McCormick Deering from 1928. It used to fill the water tower on the farm my father grew up on.

Not sure what happened to embedding youtube videos.

The youtube button has changed to a newspaper looking button with a plus on it. It's just to the right of the picture icon in the post editor. Not sure when it changed, but that's the one to use for embedding videos now.
Sweet calico kittens I feel like there isn’t a part or component on that tractor that isn’t able to kill me in a most spectacular fashion.

No, those are rated at 110hp, which is big for a steam tractor.
I have actually driven a steam tractor, and it is quite the experience.
A steam engine probably has a max rpm of somewhere between 175-400rpm. That's it.
Think of the kind of torque it's pushing out to hit 110hp at 200rpm!

I wonder if they had a forced draft fan on these things and if so, did they crank this one up?

110 HP @ 200 RPM is 2,888.6 lb ft of torque!

According to the video page, he'd put a bunch of sawdust in the smokebox to create extra embers.
Within my lifetime, the local township had an actual steam roller in road repair service. I think when the last guy who knew how to run it retired, they finally replaced it.

would love to see what it could do at an actual tractor pull compared to all the multiengined things
Many years ago we went on a midnight run in this. The senior center called the cops due to the loud whistle. They chased us down and let us know we had also set the side ditch on fire. Great fun!
I've been toying with the idea of building a wood boat lately, and using a lawnmower engine converted to steam to power it. Not sure how practical it would be for running to fishing holes before it got hot, but it sure would be amusing as hell, not to mention probably a whole lot quieter than a small motor.
Something like this.
Or if it was going to be just for fun, and goofing off
Edit: Both of these are 16' or less. The plan's call for 3-10hp on the top one, and 5-20 for the little tug.
