The Mazda3 the wife and I bought 5 years and 80k miles ago is running awesome and all I've had to do is oil changes. Never had to make a warranty claim. Hell I haven't even had to change the factory brake pads yet. It's been and still is a great car. My old Chevy truck on the other hand is about to drive me to drink. I wish Mazda made a full size truck (but not some crossbred Ford rehash) I could replace my old dog with.
That's all.
Or at least bring back the old b2000.....
Unfortunately, since 2011, that is based on the international Ranger platform...
The last truly Mazda made truck was the first gen BT-50 from 2006-2011
I love my B2200! 1993 model with 286K miles and still going strong. Long live the small truck!

Bring back the VW Rabbit truck, the Nissan Hardbody, Ford Ranger and the Toyota Pickup while we are at it. At their original dimensions.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. My 85 has about 400k kms (about 250k freedom units to those of you who don't want to get on board with the metric system) and gets punished on a daily basis and just keeps going

I’m a huge fan (my first new vehicle was a 1986 Mazda B2000 LX. Metallic blue with a tasteful yet snazzy amount of chrome (rims, front / rear bumpers).
Having said that, could somebody please wake me up when the following two conditions have been met:
One - Flamboyant, pointless, swoopy lines have gone out of fashion.
Two – Sophomoric One-Upmanship in terms of overall size, grill proportions, & hood / bed height have also gone out of fashion.

Surely by now you know that us metric lovers are godless heathens who place order and logic above all else?

Yessir! I DO like it!
My google Fu tells me it's running a Ford 302, Wich is a fairly easy swap in the b series. Seriously tempting.
Modern "full size" or 20+ years ago full size?

I so want to jump in and make a comment that will derail this thread into a discussion of what constitutes a real full size truck and how those that disagree with me are of questionable masculinity but instead I'll say this. It really is disheartening that the three builders of traditional full size trucks can't seem to quite come up with the same level of reliability that Mazda seems to have built into in most of their products.

There are two types of country: those that use the metric system, and those that have been to the moon

I think I already derailed it into metric vs standard debate.....

Base 10 only exists thanks to our 5 digits per appendage. From a mathematical standpoint, base 8 would would be more logical.
Back to trucks, I could make due with the proposed Hyundai truck.
On a combination topic, i want a modern el Camino made with American sized hardware. By mazda with mazda joy and mazda reliability.

does that mean it gets the corporate "smile" grill?
For the love of God, please NO.
It also appears that the hyundai truck may be worth looking at.

Hyundai truck ... I'd love an old Pony truck
Ever replace the clutch on the above vehicle ?
While a truck would be great and all, I wish Mazda would make a proper RWD sport sedan and coupe, like a bargain 3-series competitor. Power with the Skyactiv Turbo 2.5L, give it a M/T option, and people will buy it.
And for all the weirdos (and I use that as a term of endearment), make a coupe version and offer three magic spinning Doritos under the hood as an option.
It's a simple formula, and I think people will bite. For a company that prides themselves on making good looking cars that aren't boring to drive, they need to step up their game.
