OK guys, I am baring all here before the collective geniuses among us.

My feet are always cold and sweaty unless it's screaming hot out or I am really working. Sitting here at my desk, my toes are cold and my socks are wet. Not too much in the way of smell, honestly, but wet and uncomfortable. I've tried the following:

Insoles

Powders (in sock and in shoe)

Deoderant

Cotton

Acrylic

Wool

Alternating shoes day to day

Letting them breathe every few hours

And nothing really works. I nearly always get some sort of athletes foot in the summer because I drive home and the cold sweaty feel turn into hot slimy feet. At my old job, I had to wear steel toes, which you'd think would make it worse, but didn't seem to matter.

When it is really cold out, I can't have my feet on the ground - they get too cold. They get hot and everything like normal in the summer. This hasn't always been this way, I used to ski and rollerblade like mad as a kid and never had any of this.

Ideas?

Cold feet seems like circulation. Get up and walk around every hour or so. Use the stairs.

As for sweaty... if they don't stink enough to make your co-workers call a meeting about you - bare them under the desk.

I think a call to your family Doc may be in order. Just to be safe.

are your toes cold to the touch? cold feeling but sweating doesn't sound like poor circulation. Sounds more like neuropathy. It could be caused by any number of things from diabetes to compressed spinal nerve. Check with your doctor as soon as you can.

It could also be a low thyroid condition. A symptom of that is cold feet.

I agree with checking with your doc. Cold sweaty feet just ain't a good healthy sign.

That said, Mitchum anti-perspirant does wonders, not only in the pits, but on the feet. Not a deodorant, but an anti-perspirant.

Yep. You are a goner for sure.

My wife has had ice cold feet for the 17yrs I've known her. She just keeps on living - and touching me with them while I'm all warm and comfortable. I wouldn't stop paying your bills just yet.

My hands and feet go cold quick and go white. Its constriction of blood vessels keeping blood from getting to extremities. This its nor am answer too wrote problem, but a possible cause. Severe cases cause body parts to die and rot off. If you have this, I'm sure its not that severe in that you have not noted your toes actually falling off. But maybe you get it looked at by your doctor. Its just a possibility.

Good luck.

Strange thing a doc asked me a few years ago during a physical: 'take your shoes off'. WTF?

Turned out he wanted to see if I had hair on my toes. I'm not quite a Hobbit but they ain't bald, either. It seems that if you have poor circulation in your feet you won't have hair on your toes.

I had a fungus problem on my feet until I switched to wearing sandals most of the year.Wwore them with cotton socks in the summer and wool in the winter except on the really snowy and slushy days. Wool does keep your feet warm but not in ice water. Anyway keeping the feet dry stopped the infestation.

I have type 2 diabetes and blood circulation to my feet is a problem. Get checked out by your doctor. Bad ccirculation can lead to no circulation followed by amputation. Serious stuff.

I seem to recall a nerve you can get whacked for that. At least for hands. Might be able to do that for the feet as well. Neurosurgical consult? You might be better off with sweaty feet, an extra pair of socks and some powder. Seems like they are also doing Botox injections for it now, which isn't quite as permanent.

What you wanna be looking for is "plantar hyperhidrosis," not "sweaty feet."

If you can't fix it and your feet fall off, its OK. I hear modern prostetics are great.

Ever have your backside get numb while standing? I never had a problem with cold feet, until this winter. Feet would be FREEZING even in smart wool socks and my good winter boots. Turns out I have Spondylolisthesis, and a couple of nerves are getting pinched by it. Or something. Sucks.

I have low bloodpressure. I keep the temps in my place at 73 all winter and still feel cold enough to bundle up in sweatpants..

but I only get sweaty when working out or when it is extremely hot out.

You've got me stumped
