So I have an extra passenger seat from my '88 Scirocco. Passenger seats are far less desirable without their driver seat since they see about 10% as much use and almost never wear out because of this.

But its quite comfy, but without purpose.

Computer chair? Xbox 360 simulator setup? Some sort of low level floor chair?

In the car it has 3 hard points where it mounts to the rails, but would destroy and flooring surface if left as is.

I need ideas.

If it were me, I'd build a gaming rig out of it. PS3, XBox, or PC whatever you have. Buy a dedicated TV - I think it can be smallish if you mount it close enough to you. Do you already have a wheel and pedal setup for driving games?

If shipping wasn't so stupidly expensive I'd hazard a guess that you can find someone in the UK who'd love to have it...

I take it that you can't swap the mounting brackets and use it on the driver's side?

Everything is welded to the frame on the A1 VW seats, and the minor inconvience of having the fold forward release on the wrong side. I already have another set of Scirocco from seats from my '87 and the Corrados that are actually in the '87, all in really good shape so spares aren't a problem.

I can see it now "WTT: my seat for your Euro Bumpers"

Dunno if it works for a lot of cars, but passenger side seat upholstery for a MkII MR2 will fit on a driver's seat with almost no modification at all. Shoot, "modification" isn't the right word. You just have to get it to fit over the side levers and such. Nothing to it, really.

I read the thread title and was thinking, "dicky seat, in the trunk".

Gaming rig gets my vote.

Or for the ZAV minded, rear gun turret. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y548HsgOznY

But I do love some dicky seats...

I like the idea of making an office/computer chair, that's what I did with the Recaro I had sitting around after converting to a full on race seat. I imagine it will be a bit of a challenge with a Mk1 seat with the integrated mounts, but still doable.

I like the office seat idea.

Ive had a passing thought of building car related stuff since I just got the axe at work. Engine block coffee tables, rim stools and other stuff.

I had to google that one, I have always heard them called rumble seats.
