Ideas For New Year's Eve Movies To Ring In the New Year

Looking for something new.

I've dropped Hans Gruber a few times: start DIE HARD at exactly 9:58:13

This year I'm thinking maybe blow up Jaws if I can get the timing right. Or maybe flip the War Rig. Now that I think of it, blowing up Johnny in the original Mad Max might work too.

Anyone else doing something similar tonight?

I watched Strange Days in the theater on Dec 30, 1999 with the movie timed to end at midnight. Haven't seen it since, not sure Janel would accept the substitution. 

There's a certain time to start Forrest Gump so you both ring in the New Year at the same time

As many times as I've watched Die Hard it's 100x better than this.........

I just watched Boss Level.  Actually a pretty damn good (very) action sci-fi.  Kind of a violent Groundhog Day (does not spoil the plot, this aspect is revealed in the first 5 min).  A pretty surprising selection of supporting actors also.  If you like Die Hard, you should like this.

Looks like it's only available on Hulu (maybe pay per view?)  (I acquired it by "other" means).

I don't know the right times here, but...

Slap Shot, time it so that Braden is skating in his jock with the trophy at midnight

Caddy Shack, course blows up at midnight

Blues Brothers, pinto falls at midnight 

Dr. Strangelove - Time it so the bomb detonates right at midnight.

Yes, but then you've wasted however many precious minutes of your life watching Forrest Gump.

We played Animal Crossing and partied with our islanders on the plaza in front of Resident Services.  There was a big countdown clock, dancing, balloons, party poppers, sparkly hats, and fireworks.  It was a lot more entertaining than watching celebrities I don't know lip-syncing music I hate.

We watched up in smoke for years until I lent it to somebody and they never gave it back.

This year we watched Wolf of Wall street because it was on one of the movie channels and we recorded it. As movies go, it was a movie.

Last year I think we watched most of the series Swingtown
