Atleast he wasn't content to just sit back and finish second http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6so8be16mL4

I'm guessing there were no team orders, but their will be for the next race.

i dunno much about wheel 2 wheel racing myself, but didn't Neal commit to a racing line for that turn first? and the other guy cut back in on him to not let him by?

Looked to me like a legitimate pass attempt, but the team mate didn't see it. Just because you "own" the corner, doesn't mean taking it is the right thing.

Looked to me like Neal attempted to out-brake his teammate, and proceeded to lock up the fronts and plow into him.

A legitimate, I think, if over-reaching pass attempt. It'd have been a dumb racing incident if it had been a competitor from another team. Turning a team 1-2 into a 6-DNF really compounds the magnitude of the mistake.

If he's prone to that sort of maneuver, sentence him to the headlock. With noogies, even. Otherwise, I'm sure he hates himself plenty. He sure didn't look happy with himself on the in-car cam...

I would not have been looking forward to facing the team after that one.

That's on neal IMHO.

He was REALLY far back when he attempted that, in the last corner, in the rain, set for a 1-2 finish.

I also enjoyed thinking about what the team principal, Neal, will think about the pass Neal made to take his two cars out.

That would be father Steve to son Matt.

not a dinner table I would want to sit at.
