Semi hauling fire extinguishers catches fire Both lanes now open Updated: Friday, 17 Sep 2010, 6:39 PM EDT Published : Friday, 17 Sep 2010, 6:17 AM EDT

Rick Rhodes TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - An ironic crash causes traffic problems on Interstate 70 in Vigo County.

Both westbound lanes were closed near Exit 7 Friday morning after a semi-trailer caught fire.

The semi-trailer was reportedly a Wal-Mart truck carrying fire-extinguishers.

There were no injuries with the fire and traffic was blocked completely until crews could clear one lane.

It took about eight hours to open all the lanes.

they were Wal Mart fire extinguishers.. they probably only work as wall decorations.

well, if only the fire had gotten hot enough for the extinguishers to burst...

and yes, they were probably only decorative extinguishers.. made in china and full of crap that is bad for your health

They were probably highly flammable. The instructions probobly read "In case of fire, use extinguisher to break down a door and escape." or perhaps "use to beat people out of your way for a speedy escape"
