Just for context, I lived in Gainesville, been to the gatornationals several times. I've seen Top Fuel cars run, and was there for the first three hundred mile an hour pass and the first sub 4 second pass.

I went to some diesel truck drags in New Jersey when i was stuck out there over a weekend for work. and it wasnt your typical diesel pickup trucks, it was any and every kind of diesel powered road truck. Semi's, trash trucks, cement mixers, even one of those billboard sign trucks with the sign on hydraulics to raise it up. the guy would take off and raise the sign as he ran down the drag strip at a whopping 32 second quarter mile.
Now THAT is an expensive hobby. And you can't trailer your racer to the tracks.

Imagine the disappointment of building a steam engine, only to get pulled by bus lengths by Thomas the Tank Engine. I bet next year he comes back with a 2000 shot of NOS.
