I worked for a vending company back in the 60's when microwaves first came out. They were far more powerful than what is usually sold now. Service guys constantly had to go out to places where somebody had taken a can of soup and set the oven on Kill. End results were a lot of destruction. The worst part of working on those old ones was that the power capacitor stored a deadly amount of power, over 20K volts. We had two guys killed by that. Microwaves are not toys.

I feel smart for not ever wondering that.
