You could be doing what I had to do today.
and yes, It's snowing. heavily
I spend about a quarter of my day outside, I don't wear a coat unless I am going home or coming here.
You wear a coat to goof off on the internet. I work outside but thankfully at ground level. I could never work that high off the ground.
I take it you are well compensated and have good job security. I cannot imagine a lot of people wanting to do that for a living. Maybe in my younger days, but age does something to your confidence.
I periodically have to climb to the top of water towers for my job, and it seems like the weather is usually like that when I do it. At least I'm inside the column of the tower until I get to the top.

What is so hard about standing at the base of a tower taking pictures in the snow?
I had to deal with cold complaints from people all day.. I used to work in a -10 deg freezer warehouse and live in roch ny.. so. they can eat it.
I really respect those that could do these jobs. I saw a show about tower dogs and was impressed in what they do.
I am sure you have all seen the link where the helicopter drops a guy off on the high wires and he scoots along them?
impressive
No one asked why you were up there? I assume you are trying to get a better look at a track so you can practice the line in your head.

I'd be all over a job like that.

hey, I'm rarely in the office. gotta love it!
Yeah, I have no desire to work indoors. My worst day out in the snow is better than being inside with various bits of management
I'll work outside all day in all kinds of conditions, but I hate when my back or my hands hurt, and I can't handle heights.
So...that doesn't leave me much.
