With their tiny brains they are still smart enough to get outta here in this weather. Right now it's 27 degrees with a windchill of.••••? Depends on the wind gust .
Yesterday flying along the freeway and came to an open stretch just as one of those 43 mph Wind gusts hit the side of that 40' sail, er bus. It felt like a sailboat about to capsize. Right about that time the announcer informed me the wind chill temp was 25.
Right now the snow flurries are hitting the bus setting up a cold rattle. street is just about completely white.
WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING HERE?

I can recommend a treatment, I bought a snowmobile sight unseen...I'm very excited for meaningful amounts of snow (only flurries last night here in eastern Canada).
Stay away from JG's house then.

The line that I dust off and use every winter is that the only thing I hate more than cold and snow is moving.

Ducks aren't that smart. They haven't figured out how to manufacture or use ice skates, sleds, snowmobiles, skis, snowboards, or snowballs...
berkeley winter. Move south.

Truth. I did that for 20 years, then I did the dumb thing of divorcing and moving back north.

Back in the 1960's Dad was really big into snowmobiles. As a teenager I was obligated to be anything anti Dad because I was busy trying to leave the nest.
That feeling remains to this day. In fact the cold means snow and snow leads to snowmobiles.
Listening to the whine of a snowmobile as it runs on the lake in front of my house is another reason to not like them.
Do you really have to run by me waking me up all night long?

Amen! I've lived at the same address for 37 years and within 5 miles since 1974.

My dogs can use sleds and imitate snowmobiles. They can also survive outside in temperatures up to 60 below zero.
Why a duck?

I had an aftermarket exhaust on a 3 cylinder Polaris I had as a teenager. I remember being out talking to an engine builder who lived in a very rural area. This guy assembled motors for offshore racing boats. He commented my sled was a little louder than stock. I said I try and not "get on it" when I'm passing through towns. He replied "those of us who live way out here do it for the quiet"
I had no response. My current four stroke is supposedly whisper quiet...it certainly seems it in the videos my father sent me.
Just about anything is smarter than me. When we finally retired from everything, we headed north to the Ny Catskills snow belt. Oh well, time to buy more toys.

We're currently fostering a Samoyed. We like cold weather. So we get dogs that also like cold weather.

You live on Lake Minnetonka, MN; right?
I've been traveling to Minnesota for 17 years (35 trips in 2019 alone) and then COVID hit...silence, hard stop.
Wherever I was working in the State, I'd stay at the Marriott Residence Inn in Plymouth...
...as my Platinum Elite status got me a corner room (separate bedroom, completely functional kitchen, and, wait for it, a fricken fireplace!) all for the princely sum $141 per night.
Every trip, I'd call the Famous Dave's in Plymouth just before boarding my flight at LAX and place an order for eight servings of bread pudding...
...to be picked up at 11:45 AM sharp.
I'd hit the hotel right at noon and deliver the food to the staff in exchange for the nicest corner room available (they knew exactly what my priorities were, no need to announce them) and they'd give me my box of stuff containing a pepper mill, salt shaker, olive oil, sponge / scrubby thing, ice scraper, etc..
Hearing how cold it is makes me really home sick...did I mention that my room had a fireplace...sniff.
Berkeley County in South Carolina is in desperate need of bus drivers. The current temperature is 69 and it's sunny.
It will be 26 by Monday night, but we will be back in the mid-60s for Thanksgiving.

I'm alright, how are you?
Sorry to hear that Frenchy (only because it's headed my way) but I had to look; I honestly thought you were in Florida.
When Frenchy capitalized "Duck," I thought he meant a Citroen 2CV. Or possibly a Ducati.
Cold weather is why all the Yankees are moving to the Deep South and learning the benefits of using the air conditioner every month of the year.

Why no chicken?
Because Chickens have lips.

If I did that what would I have to complain about ?
