I'd rather YouTube had more tutorials and fewer "Useless log turned into $70,000 table" or "Abandoned car for 20 years, will it run?" or "Epoxy filled with random crap, will it turn on the lathe?"

The almighty algorithm has decided what we get to watch.

It does take a few attempts to find a tutorial that is watchable, clear and concise though.

-I- strive to do that, Most of my vids are whatever I'm doing right then.  I don't craft anything for views, I just post what I'm currently doing.

It is like forums on the internet, and life in general.  There are people with useful information and idiots who are clueless but think they know everything.  I watch and see how many rookie, dumb, unsafe or just plain hack things they do.  At some point it usually gets turned off and I go to another video.  But enough of the time something useful is learned making a job easier.

A bad video can still be useful, simply by showing you what NOT to do.

More rant.

On my way home today I saw a Focus on a trailer with race or rally numberboard on the side. Car 316.

Searching for "Ford focus 316 race results" gets me page after page of used car ads and Dorman parts.
