Dude I go out of my way to make black snakes welcome on my property.

RAT SNAKES also eat Vipers, that means if you see them you are not as likely to see Copperheads and rattlers. Please don't kill.

Nothing that can bite you and draw blood or inject something is harmless.  Snakes, spiders, rodents, mosquitoes, ... not harmless.  Around the home, they need to be managed.

 

 

I will grant you that. I wouldn’t leave a snake on my house or garage but I would remove it not kill it. Mice get the nuclear treatment since they’re almost impossible to exclude.
