So- I'm bored. I have a little money. I found a place in Montreal that is selling cheap Skylines under the 15 year Canada rule. I know r33's can be titled in the states, but none of those are old enough..... yet. r32's are plenty old, and it seems fairly reasonably priced for what they are. r32's aren't technically legal in the states.... but they are in Canada. One thought I had (mostly because I know a few made it into the states this way) was to fly to Canada, pull the motor, and ship the motor and engine separately, and title it as a kit car. Anyone know of any other ways to do this?

I'd wait the additional 3-4 years and import an R32 as a classic car...

I think you might have the right idea Tim. I've found a few titled in the US already, but if the fed is horkin' em all as outlined in that article, I'd rather not blow all my cash out like that.
The fact that the car is in Canada means nothing other than it's easier to ship. There are special rules for importing a Canadian car into the US, but they only apply to Canadian market (CDM?) cars and not to cars that were originally produced for sale outside Canada.
I would not do it either. Put the money into something cool and available in the USA.
