In McAllen TX for two weeks.

I am n McAllen for two weeks for work. Will have evenings and next weekend free so if anyone in say an hour of there needs help with something let me know. 
 

Also, any recommendations of thing to see or places to eat would be welcome. 

As I travel for work I always wonder if I can restore, clean or buff car parts in my hotel room at night.  

All have smoking policies but what about spray painting in my room or parking lot rules?

You could drive out to the Gulf Coast. Port Isabel and South Padre Island are about an hour away. If you have a day off you could even go deep sea fishing.

South Padre is on the list, as long as I am only on call for the weekend. 

Looks like I am getting Monday off so am going to go see the USS Lexington.

If there is any way possible, go out to Snoopy's while you're in Corpus.  It's a good thirty minutes out to the island from the Lex,  but sitting outside eating seafood and enjoying a beer is a pretty good way to end your day.
