They are launching a rocket from Canaveral on the 20th. Oh boy!
Went to the Canaveral national seashore yesterday, saw a note on a whiteboard but no info on the website? Beach was awesome, much different than Daytona
You simply HAVE to see it. We watched a shuttle launch from port Canaveral state park in 01. The most amazing thing ever. What TV pics can never convey is the acceleration of the thing. Obviously TV pans with the rocket/shuttle whatever, but when you see it live you can see it get faster and faster and faster as it gets higher. It's utterly amazing to see.
Allegedly launch is at 7:20 pm, after dark .Still nothing on the NASA website. Hope the clouds clear out.
If you are in the area, night launches are the best. Find a spot on the beach for the best unobstructed views. If they launch with a few clouds the sky lights up amazingly. Try down near the light house if you can...
Saw the night launch of Space Shuttle Discovery in '95 after the 24 Hour. Awesome sight at night, the noise was incredible. What powah. The 24 was awesome as well but the launch rounded it out, one of the most memorable trips ever.
Hope the sky is clear for y'all !!
Looked like a giant bottle rocket, only no pop at the end. I was just over the bridge also. Parked on the grass.
I was down there back in the day. Toured the space museum. Was supposed to watch the Challenger take off. It got cancelled that day. Got to see it live on TV in school because the teacher that was on it
