Damaged wrote on his Amazon customer review: Worth every cent. Without a doubt, the moment I purchased these cables, in fact the very instant my credit card was debited for the purchase, I could instantly feel the quality they provide. It started as a soft, perfect note. A pureness beyond the normal comprehension. Only true sound engineers and audiophiles can have any hope to sense how great the fullness and exactness of that note is. Ever since then, unicorns have been springing, fully formed, from my butt. No joke! And better, each unicorn has the same, perfect, innocent clarity that that first note did. My review makes no sense, as does this price for a cat-6 cable.

Monster Cable is small potatoes in the stupid-insane-audiophile-speaker-cable department.
Do people really buy this stuff? It's a digital connection, it either works or it doesn't, no middle ground.
How do I go about starting my own ludicrously priced cable company? I want in on this. Maybe I could charge even more than these guys if I include some pictures of my $40 used oscilloscope showing waveforms with a BS description?
Yes people really buy it. I'm considering buying some slightly fancy ones because i'm sick of replacing a Monoprice hdmi cable every 2 months.
But think more like $20-30/cable, not thousands.

Amazon reviews are probably one of the best sources for creative writing around these days.
The gummi bear/anal explosions review thread was gold.

You've apparently not met the "Audiophile" They put the Ricers to shame with their ability to fall for unvalidated quasi-scientific sounding marketing claims.
Many I know will spend stupid amounts of money on the very best cables and connectors, uber expensive speakers and a tube amp to play from their iPods or from their turntables.
Everyone's gotta have a hobby I guess.
Sorta like the nut jobs that buy a brand new economy car, then spend $8000 on custom dampers, $2000 on wheels and tires, entry fees, plus gas to/from the events for 4 or 5 runs around some randomly generated "course" in some god-foresaken piece of tarmac just to try and win a little plastic trophy, a sticker or a small dash plaque.

Why do you think they are failing?

What are you doing to them?
I've had the same heavyish gauge monoprice HDMI cable since 2011, just nice enough to have "gold" plated ends and ferrite beads, a lot of it's life it's been laid across a floor and walked on, used to plug various laptops into various TVs, still works perfectly.

I work with people who do audio for a living.. if people actually saw what they use for cables, heads would explode
In reply to turboswede:
No idea. But they're the only things in the entire setup i have any problems with.
To mad_machine: So, you're telling us that the professionals typically don't "use the conductors in the direction which reduces distoration"?
In reply to Stealthtercel:
Some of the best speaker wire available is 16 gauge lamp cord, maybe heavier for big speakers or long runs, but appliance cord in general works great.
Reading double-blind tests of speaker cables is always fun. Even on analog signals like speakers, people can't tell the difference. Digital? Pfft. My HDMI cables are Amazon Basic.

This is 12/2 SO cable. It costs about $2/foot, less in spools. It is precisely what is used to connect speakers to amplifiers in professional live audio rigs.
I can pick out silver vs copper analog cables in my setup, but haven't noticed anything concrete between different copper cables.

NL-4, to be precise And it's "Neutrik".
Rezin8 said: Never in my life have I experienced such perfection in a product. When I opened that box from Amazon, which also held numerous bags of Mikro Brilliant Pebbles for my interconnects, I knew I was on to something great. My eldest son started a slow clap and the rest of my family joined in until my theater was filled with thunderous applause. I immediately installed my AudioQuest Diamond only to have my small Netgear switch explode from the power contained within this cable. Luckily I had a brand new Cisco 6509 that I hadn't gotten around to installing yet to replace it. At first I was extremely dissatisfied with my purchase, but that changed when my daughter realized that I had installed the cable backwards. See, this is a DIRECTIONAL ethernet cable, and the electrons can only flow one way through it. Once I turn the cable around, the performance was astounding. A iperf test across it showed 93 Gigabit! And I only have a 1 Gigabit switch! I recently cashed out my 401(k) so I can purchase a full complement of these cables for my home. I plugged one in between my wireless access point and my router only to see my internet speeds quintuple. My home network is now so fast that my cable company can't keep up! Take out another mortgage, sell a kidney, offer your first born child into sexual slavery if you have to, but you NEED to buy the AudioQuest Diamond Ethernet Cables!
That's it! I've gotta get me one! Challenge car budget be damned
