I've been to Mid-O on a number of occasions for other series and it's a really nice place to spend the day. Just park under a tree in the infield and wander around. I'm assuming that the Indy race attracts a much larger crowd. I noticed the infield requires a parking permit. Does anyone have firsthand experience with what the crowds and viewing will be like for Indy vs IMSA weekends?
The crowd will depend on how many free tickets Honda is giving away to their employees. I wouldn't expect a very large crowd given the series' history.
Then again, Marlo Klain might be getting married again.
There is usually a big crowd on Sunday for the Indy Race but Saturday is usually not very crowded. The esses will be packed, as usual, but there should be plenty of room everywhere else. One benefit of the bigger crowd is that Vendor Row is bigger and there is a lot more "stuff" going on in the infield area.
With that being said I have not been for the Indy race in a few years. Open wheel stuff is not my thing so I usually take the kids up on Saturday for the PWC race and skip Sunday.
