Say what? The TSA security officers are federal employees, with federal medical and pensions, and they start out making like, 25k a year. Hardly underpaid for a mouth-breather.
Many of them make more than that. There are contractors that make less. Not 100% sure, but I don't think they get the federal benefits. Do you think 25 sacks a year is a good pay rate for someone who has a job in which the description includes the words, "homeland security?"
Only a handful of airports have opted away from TSA employees and use contractors. And I think 25k starting is an ok salary for the skillset required to be an entry level TSA employee.

I can agree with that.
