First autox of the season tomorrow, and I can still see snow from my house. The weather is suppose to be gorgeous. I wish my mini was done, but the subaru will have to do for now.

Our first of the season was t-storm and lightening'd out. Second one was 58 and rainy....So this weekend I head to Grissom for a TnT and it'll be 80 and sunny. FINALLY! This offseason has been way too long.
40 degrees with frost this morning... (SE PA) ...which made for one COLD drive into work in a Spitfire at 70mph on the highway... with the top down... but supposed to be in the 70's this afternoon... and 80's this w/e... about friggen time...
The local SCCA chapter is too busy for me to want to run with. First non-SCCA auto-x was last weekend.
But I was going to the track in December and January.
Phx here, summer is kind of the off season just because of the heat, but I head north and run in Flagstaff, so year round racing is excellent. Only problem is you have to take off a season to work on upgrades.
I know, probably not much pity on that one.
Yes, the off-season was too long, although out here on the West Coast of Canada we've already had four autocrosses this year. I just had a look at my motorsports calendar, and between races and autocrosses, the next 15 weekends in a row are booked with at least one event every weekend, and several with two! I feel like I have a reason to live again!
The first FLR SCCA event is this weekend, Sat test and tune with auto-x Sunday. Looks like a good weekend for testing our Formula SAE car as well. We have been out for some cold weekend testing so far, but this should be our first weekend with some real tire temps.
suppose to be high 70's low 80's tomorrow, and we had snow yesterday. Today is a nice and sunny 65, which is just about right for me.
I'm actually coming up on my off season. No, I'm not in the Southern Hemisphere, but in the summer here in hot, humid Southeast Texas I find track days to be a lot less fun.
My local SCCA chapter's opening fun-run was last Sunday. It was beautiful on the Mass. South Shore, 70*-ish, but very windy. My face was pretty wind-burned when I came home. The first points event is on May 3rd at NH Motor Speedway. I just hope my R-comps and other parts come in on time...
I used to do winter auto-x events with the Philly Region in January and February at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen MD. That was freaking awesome! The best auto-x I ever went to was there, in February, while the parking lot was COVERED with a thick slab of ice.
When Ripken Stadium went away, so did winter events. The off-season became unbearably long. So to answer your question, yes, this off-season did seem like it was pretty long. Like every off-season. Ever.
