We're trying to figure out where we want to live. SWMBO and I work about 11.5 miles away from each other. She has to drive to her job; I will walk/bike/transit. Right in the middle of the locations is out of the question, due to safety. Closer to her work is a fine commute for both of us, but a pretty boring area for being in your mid-20's, and housing is a little bit more expensive (although you get more). Closer to work for me is a really fun area, great commute for me, but her commute would be depending on the time 15 minutes (20 going the speed limit) all the way up to an hour.
20-25 minutes is ok. 45 is not. 60 is unthinkable. Is there a way to set up an RSS feed or something that will track the time of a commute from place A to B at 6 different times, in 15 minute intervals?
under an hour is considered short in this part of the world.
Go to maps.google.com and set your start and destination in the directions field. Pic the method of travel. Look for text that says "Leave Now" and click on that. It should bring up a drop-down menu. You could use either the Depart At or Arrive By options to try different times.

This.
But I want to have that for 5:00AM, 5:15, 5:30, 5:45, 6:00, 6:15, 6:30, 6:45, 7:00, and 7:15 AM for MTWTF. Is there a way to do that other than updating it every 15 minutes?

Another maybe helpful way is to go to regular google maps (as in when you are just looking at the map versus getting directions) then in the Getting Around box you can click on Traffic then select Typical Traffic then you can select any day of the week and use the slider bar to select times in 1/2 hour increments. You don't get travel times but you do see how bad your average traffic will be.

Brilliant! This is nearly exactly what I was looking for.
Yup, Google will do that for you.
60 minutes is unthinkable for me too...I could never make it home from my office in 60 minutes or less. Totally unthinkable.
Just load Google Navigation on your phone. It will tell you in live time how long

Came here to say this. Ten miles in the city? Can you get her into bicycling or maybe an electric bike? I only mention it because then you can say berkeley traffic and roll on past it. I hate driving in the city. I can get to most places by bike at worst a couple minutes slower than cars. Albeit a little more sweaty than car occupants.

No, not an option. She'll be in Maywood (which is on the shadier side of OK), but a ride from just about anywhere in the city would take you through some of the worst parts of the city (Garfield Park).

I wish I knew more about coding... I wonder if someone could easily create this tool using the google maps API?
