Been getting a clunk from the front of the '05 Scion xB for a few weeks now. Pulled the wheels off today to see what I could see.

Sway bar end link bushings are toast. There are 4 bushings per side. Discount OEM parts sources sell them for $3.99 per. That's $32. Without shipping.

Rock Auto sells complete Moog end link kits. 2 of them with shipping is $12.

Energy Suspension sells a kit that includes the bar-to-subframe bushings, as well as complete end links, in poly. I can get that on Amazon for $31 shipped.

My thinking is that Poly bushings will never need to be replaced, and I can do this job once and be done with it forever.

Is there any reason NOT to go the poly route?

thanks

Nope.

Gonna keep it?

Yeah, I thought it through more. It's been a good car so far - this is the first actual repair it's needed in 4 years. No reason to let it go.

I think I'll keep it at least 5 years, until my job contract ends. By that time, the odo ought to be around 130k, and it will probably still fetch $2-3k.

Meanwhile, I'll keep putting away cash for it's replacement. In 5 years, I ought to have enough saved up to buy something mighty nice.
