Yes, I'm "that guy."
This week has been so swell.
Written by a man than can't decide to print or write in cursive so he does both. He needs a note to be sent back to grade school.

I'll just give you a hint:
Here's the front subframe.
Working on a tagged and titled car is not illegal. Trespassing is.
Edit-this attitude is not the best way to keep neighbors or landlords happy.
I should just work on it through the night. You know, to get things finished ASAP.
In all honesty, I have been trying to be as neighborly as possible, all things considered. I clean up every night, and I have only used one power took so far, for a few hours, tops. Everything else has been hand tools. No music or either.
That neighbor will wake up with his door locks crazy-glued.
He better hope he never has a problem in the AM starting his car then needing assistance. Then you happen to be walking out and see him struggling.. LOL..
Step one: install security cameras Step two: wait for this to happen again Step three: profit! I mean yeah, do whatever
"Bluffing" a car goes a long way towards keeping neighbors off of your back. It's amazing how well a wheel in every wheel well will keep the grumpy people from even noticing your car is being worked on.
The next thing you know the neighbor will be complaining to the City that you are dumping oil in the street. I had to go investigate one of these today...no dumping, just a guy working on an E30.
Any time I'm actually working on a vehicle, no one bothers me. It was the truck that I forgot to renew the plates on, that the officer walked back and placed a warning on.

Had a neighbor call the city because I used to park my car on the street in front of his house (because he would park his car in front of mine) and it had an oil leak that I neglected for a few months, resulting in a stain about 1 foot in diameter. The fire dept. showed up telling me "We received a complain from your neighbor, so we have to give you a written warning. If I were you, I'd just fix the leak to shut your bitchy neighbor."
Some people are the worst.
It sounds like you live in a neighborhood with a HOA. Congratulations!
We have owned two homes with HOAs. One wasn't too bad. The other has been a pain because of stuff like you are posting here. But this is my son living in the house my wife bought and he has been pushing these people's buttons for years. His vehicle broke down on the entrance road and they had it towed before he could get it fixed enough to move. The $300 tow bill would more than have repaired it.

, Did they call a tow company from another state??? That is a really expensive tow bill
Some people just live to be pains in the asses. Most hoa people are there only because they are took incompetent and curmudgeonly to get elected to any government position so they do this instead.
I havent had any issues with my current hoa so far, I haven't done anything here aside from basic maintenance though and no air tools. I try to make it as in noticeable as possible though and I think they appreciate that, though there are only 2 neighbors that can see in my car port and I'm on good terms with them.
Am I the only one who thinks the letter writer was being courteous by leaving the letter first, and not just calling code enforcement?
I've had the "man" come down on me for having projects / inoperable cars on my property. I would have appreciated a note, before the fines arrived.
It sucks that not everyone understands or values our hobby of working on cars. In the end though, rules are rules and we have to operate within them......or the fines get expensive.
I fought the law.........
It's threads like this that make me happy to live in a blue collar area. Technically, the township has laws about non-running vehicles, but they aren't enforced. One of my neighbors has an old Mustang in their driveway that hasn't moved an inch during the 22 years I've lived here.
