John Geils, Rock Star, Car Guy, dies at 71.
Before I clicked and found out he was dead, thou had successfully planted centerfold as an ear worm.
Na na nanana... Rip.
Saw this and read the obit on Rolling Stone. I had no idea that his eponymous band dated back to 1967 and that he was 71. Talk about a plugger... start your band in '67, and keep at it until you have your first commercial hit in 1980? That takes dedication and tenacity.
RIP
In reply to EvanR:
"Bloodshot" came out in 1973 and was a top-10 record. They had a lot of hit songs before 1980.
Growing up in the Boston area meant that you were by default a fan of his work. You can't turn on the radio or go to a music venue around here without seeing his influence. Add to the fact that he was a car guy... it sucks.
