Jeep Cherokee

4 inches of snow today, 6 vehicles in the parking lot, 4 of them are jeeps.

I drove straight in, the biggest problem I had was finding something to listen to on the radio.

Oops I sold my jeep to a guy at work. The F150 worked great in the 1" or so we have now. The way home should test my new ride a little more. (Stupid passenger tires on a truck!)

Last winter I saw a Cherokee stuck in some snow. The rear wheels were spinning and I thought, "why doesn't the idiot put it in 4wd. then as I approached I noticed it didn't have a front drive axle. 2wd. So I pulled him out with my 4x4 Liberty. He thanked me and said " I guess I should have gotten one with 4wd. " I agreed. 2wd drives are ok in Fla.

We got some snow here last night. On the way home I ran across an Accord that went hard into a ditch. Winched him out with the 99 XJ and Ramsey 8k winch. I really like the Cherokees.

While the "little" Jeep Cherokees and such are decent, they can't even come close to the unstoppability of an old full size one. We had Grand Wagoneers for years. They were truly point and go vehicles. Only downside was the fit and finish, and that hasn't really changed. They made great tow vehicles, too.

There are many things they are not good for, but MORESO there are MANY people that are not good for Cherokees.

I let go of 2 4.0/autos and regret that now. I want another one.

A shame they quit using the inline 6. I miss my 88 xj

I had a '92, I detested the way it drove on the highway. You constantly had to correct the thing, you just couldn't relax. The fit and finish sucked, the interior buzzed everywhere (particularly on a cold morning) but the damn thing was bulletproof. Five years at the Jeep dealer backed that conclusion up.

My '93 has been sitting for 3 weeks while I was on vacation etc. I come out this morning with a temp of 12F and she starts right up like it was nuttin'. Gotta get the tailpipe fixed today so I can go through emissions.

I think the interiors were a lot better after the update. 97 or so?

I've always felt that way about most older trucks. Thing is, I've driven newer Cherokees that didn't wander, so something must have changed.

Has anybody put a turbo on one? Seems like a natural for one.

When you can build a stroker for cheap. A 258 crank and new pistons can make some good powah.
