Michelle Riggi is the new Grand Damme of Saratoga Society. She rolls into the western store my wife works at and drops a few grand at a rip, she's bored. Trish tells me she sold her yellow Lamboroghini for the Jeep in the photos. Michelle claims it can go underwater.
I believe it's an after market custom build, is that right? If Jeep built it, would they come?
Yeah, that's the 914 and the Rodeo arena in the background.

Sounds right, there are a few companies that make these including Icon. They all cost mad mad money.
If Jeep made these people would line up around the block, but they'd be coming from the Dodge dealership to do so. I think FCA is keeping this idea in their back pocket in case they ever need emergency cash to avoid bankruptcy. It would make them a lot of money in the short term but it would kill Dodge through product cannibalism.
According to that windshield banner, it's an AEV. Very nice, and VERY expensive.

It will be interesting as IIRC, a pickup is supposed to be part of the upcoming next gen wrangler. Make a standard cab and I will consider it if I get in at BW if they still have employee discounts on FCA products.
But back to the one pictured, there are a number of companies doing custom wrangler pick ups. Demand is there.

I would rock that in a heartbeat, especially if they ever saw fit to give it a diesel so the mpg's were reasonable.
No way it would kill the Ram brand either. The Colorado/Canyon, Tacoma, and (maybe soon) Ranger would be in more trouble but a Jeep pickup, despite their recent advances in comfort, is still too raw for a lot of people. Still I think they won't make one because I don't think they'd be able to make enough to keep up with demand without opening a new plant or moving production out of Ohio.
edit the conversion is $42,000, plus the cost of the base vehicle. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/googly-18.png)

I don't think it would. If they still made the Dakota, I'd buy this argument, but I don't see this as a competitor to the 1500.
I honestly don't pay a whole lot of attention to news on new and upcoming cars anymore, but I do seem to recall catching a few tidbits about both a pickup and a diesel version of the next gen Wrangler, due in a year or so. Either or both of which would certainly get my attention.
I can't see how it would be a bad idea, though. Seems from talking to people that the Tacoma and Wrangler actually get cross shopped quite a bit. In fact, those were the two finalists my buddy was considering before he bought his Taco around two years ago. The bed was what tipped the decision in the Toyota's favor for him. Given that option on the Wrangler, and things likely would have gone the other way. I'm certain the market is there.
I also have my doubts that a Wrangler based pickup would do significant damage to the RAM lineup, since they have no "small truck", just extra full size.
The biggest threat to Ram trucks is rust.
Also, I don't know who this person is.
Arc brute.
The riggi's sound like crazy rich people. The woman has a heated lawn for her dogs to play year round.

Hubby stole patent secrets from GE, went to jail but didn't have to give the money back.
Trish got home from work and told me Mrs. Riggi went to the local Indian stealership to buy three motorcycles, one for her, her sister in law and a friend. (she took lessons)
"They were rude and they laughed at me!"
She made a call to a dealership in New Jersey and had all three delivered to her house.
Hmmmm.... Maybe I can set up a nice training ride.![](/media/img/icons/smilies/evil-18.png)

I have no idea who this person is and already I don't like her.

Makes sense, they're the last two decently offroad-capable 4x4s available in North America.

Looks like a nice ride. Too bad whomever parked it apparently can't drive very well since they took up 2 or 3 parking spaces. I briefly lived in the Saratoga area twice (thanks Uncle Sam) and I like the place a lot. That lady sounds nuts though based on skimming the linked article.

What's the story on the 914? I really like the color. I missed out on a very nice blue 914 about 10 years ago and still look occasionally.
1974, 2.0 5-speed with almost 60,000 miles on it. Friend of mine retired and moving to the Outer Banks had to down size. Sold it to me for $3500.

Wow, that's a steal! The 73-74 2.0s are the ones to have. Is that original paint?

Beautiful car. They've gone up a lot, so if you ever decide to sell you'll do very well. Speaking of that, if you do ever think about selling I'd be interested.
