My last effort was with a laser company that a friend works at. Turns out the day they received my resume they started a hiring freeze.
Now to Borg Warner. At the recommendation of my B-I-L, I've applied to BW. Friday is the math skills test and today is the practice/review session. Hopefully I should be called in for an interview afterwards. Fingers crossed.
Good luck. I have been caught in hiring freezes in the past.

I got the hiring freeze roadblock in 2009 when I was getting out of the Navy and looking for a new career. I got it one other time in 2012 when I was trying to change career paths. The first time, the opportunity never came back around, but the second time things ended up working out. Worked out much differently than originally planned, but they worked out.
Good luck on the test and knock the interview out of the park when you get it.
Good luck! I've heard the interview process there is pretty intense; a friend of mine interviewed in the Asheville area for an engineering position and I guess it was quite an experience.

I passed my skills tests and have an interview Thursday morning. Step 1, shave, now my face is cold. Position in question is entry level manufacturing at the Ithaca NY plant.
How can your face be cold in June?
BTW Good luck.

Because I shaved off a rather nice beard.
Either way the interview went as well as it ever can with me. Now to wait "a few weeks" then see if I make the hiring pool or not. Then if yes, wait for a position. But I will also be looking for work in Binghamton once I'm moved into my new place.
A canoe uses a single-bladed paddle and you kneel. Oars are for rowboats or rafts. Kayaks you sit on your butt and use a double-bladed paddle.
