John Hiatt is awesome. IMHO, Crossing Muddy Waters is one of the better albums ever. I've seen him live twice, both awesome shows, and would have seen him a third had I not been broke.

Yup. If you haven't heard the "Little Village" record, go find somebody to borrow it from.

Hiatt, playing with Ry Cooder, Nick Lowe, and Jim Keltner. Check the liner notes on "Bring The Family"...

There's no better road trip music than a bunch of John Hiatt CD's, including the Little Village album mentioned above.

I've seen him live and he's a very funny guy as well.

"She came onto him like a slow moving cold front. His beer was warmer than the look in her eye...."

He's also written a bunch of great stuff that's been covered by others, most notably "Angel Eyes" by the late Jeff Healey.

I read an interview with him a long time ago. He mentioned that he went to the doctor when he was thirty and the doctor told him that if he didn't start making some lifestyle changes, he'd barely make it to forty.

He said, "Forty's not bad..."

ROFL! John probably lived a lot more in that first 40 than I've done in my 47. And I been tryin' hard...
