berkeleying horseE36 M3, as a state and former county employee I can saw this is total idiocacy. Those workers are WELL compensated and if he put an ad in the paper today for all of their jobs at their current salary levels I guarantee you he would have dozens apply for every job (qualified people too). good jobs with good benefits are hard to find. Him wanting to give all his people raises just cause doesnt' make it justified. what a berkeleytard. I have a feeling this will end up in ohio's highest court on appeal. should be interesting.
i'm suprised there wasn't a thread like this about the atlanta city council voting themselves a 20k increase in pay.
Shoot that's business as usual - Wayne County in Michigan had a 5-to-1 retirement match program for many of its workers until very recently.

Some of us are trying to abide by the stickied thread up top.

that's not so much politics as out-and-out graft

Nope. Wayne County is still under its own authority, under County Exec Robert Ficano. Some real shady stuff in the county government has been uncovered over the past year or so.
I think there is a big difference between a government leader saying "my staff is overworked and underpayed and they have been without raises for years, and we are losing quality people because of it" and saying "i deserve a pay raise."

I fail to see the difference.
