This condition is called "rare," or "extremely rare." Does anyone else have it?

The "Jumping Frenchmen of Maine" were described by George Beard in 1878. They had an excessive startle response, sometimes with echolalia, echopraxia, or forced obedience. In 1885, Gilles de la Tourette concluded that "jumping" was similar to the syndrome that now bears his name.

I do after too much coffee. I'm wound pretty tight any way. cheeky

Edit: I read a little more... I dated a girl way back when who would punch me right between the eyes if I scared or goosed her and then get pissed about hurting her hand.

I seem to have the textbook symptoms, mainly jumping out of my skin and yelling when I have no idea someone is near me. My wife excels at it. Last week I was pouring ground coffee and she appeared and coffee granules flew around the kitchen. It can be a startle, but sometimes it scares the E36 M3 out of me. I have to walk around for a minute to get my fight or flight response calmed down. It's become more prevalent as I age, and I can't wait for my inevitable hearing loss to contribute to it.
