That's a hell of a deal.
I just checked, here in Canada the base Pixel 7 is $799, and they're only offering a $100 store credit. The trade in value of my Pixel 4 XL with zero issues is $110.
I'm hanging on the the 4 because I still have unlimited free Google Photo uploads in standard quality.
I went with the 7 Pro, more expensive but offset by a larger trade-in and the store credit.
Just got the update that it shipped, 14-17 expected arrival dates.
In reply to z31maniac :
I checked on the Pro, store credit jumps to $200 but my trade in value was still $110.
Edit: https://mobilesyrup.com/2022/10/07/google-store-canada-worse-trade-in-value/
Looks like a common complaint
they offered $300 for my Pixel 4a...but that left me at $599 for a phone I don't 'need'
Gotta pass on that
My Pixel 3 has been good to me, but they're no longer getting security updates and I was ready for a new phone. The trade in was better than expected. My new Pixel 7 should arrive tomorrow.

Same, I will rock the 4a until it's not servicable.
Wow, I hadn't planned on it but I just checked and if I grab the pixel 7 they'll give me 700 for my pixel 3. Hard to say no to that since my bluetooth intermittently turns off on the current 3...

That's crazy. If I get a 6a, they give me $76 for my 4a. If I get a 7 or 7 pro, they give me $300 for my 4a. Their algorithm is amusing.

Nice! Mine is also scheduled to be here tomorrow.
Went ahead and used the store credit on the fancy thermostat. Looked into the display/cameras, but since we already have a bunch of Amazon/Ring stuff, no point in getting any Google stuff since apparently they don't cooperate with each other.
In reply to z31maniac :
Ours are tomorrow too. We just did cases and headphones.
I'm curious how they can offer such good trade-in numbers on older phones.
In reply to z31maniac :
Tablets don't require as fast of chip sets.

I'm curious too - they must be subsidizing the purchase of these new phones, no way my Pixel 3 is worth $250

I'm sure they do. I'm honestly not even sure Google makes money selling hardware. They do it so they can have more data on you to sell to advertisers.
FWIW, Samsung does similar trade-ins when a new model comes out. They gave me $700 for my Note 20 last year in trade for an S22U.
My 7 should be here "sometime" today.
Seems weird that is would take two days for it to just travel about 40 miles across town...
Ohhh. FedEx.
That explains it.
So my Pixel 3 died Friday morning in a spectacular way. Like reboot loop with it trying to call 911 on each boot up. I even went out front to be able to appoigize to the Police if they showed up. I see my carrier has the 6a pretty cheep but I remember there were issues with one of the 6s? What should I avoid on the Pixel line up?
I say get the newest one, tin foil hats may say they are going to record everything........like they don't already with cheaper phones.

I ended up getting a Pixel 7 Pro because I wanted the telephoto lens. I expected an improvement in the photos over my old Pixel 3, but I'm still pretty surprised by how much better they are.

Best buy says my pixel 6 pro is worth $200, Google says $500.
Might have to do with them being able to certify or refurbish the trade ins.

It's definitely trying to push the new phone. If I try to buy a 6a from google, the trade value on my 4a is like $75. For the 7/7pro it's $300.

At the current $299 price that both Google and Target are offering, I don't know if you can go wrong.
I've had a 6a for several months. The radio/modem sucks. Internet access is much worse than my 3a, often dropping entirely (you see a '!' in the signal strength indicator). There's a spot I stop at on my morning coffee ride to place an order. The coffee app connects maybe 1/3 of the time now. It's really annoying.
the 6a also lacks wireless charging, if you care.
The 7 (base model, not the Pro) I got thanks to the nudge from OP/this_thread is very very nice. 5G FTW.

They just announced a black friday deal on top, now I can exchange my 4a to a 6a for $50. That may be too hard to pass on.

My 6A does the same thing. Allegedly there is/was a software update to fix this. I've noticed turning 5g off has solved it. Kind of a crappy solution though. It's odd though, I'll have a couple bars of signal, but the (!) indicator which means nothing loads.

I'm like a week in to a 6a from a 4 and it's pretty good so far no connectivity problems I've noticed (Google Fi plan/network) function/feature wise very similar battery life impressive.
