The guy from that show "Chasing Classic Cars" on Velocity. Looking for some exhaust hangers for old Ferrari 250s-330s. SUPER nice guy. Told him I watch his show all the time and was a big fan. He says he appreciates the kind words and customer service.
That is all.
I like his show and he seems like a cool car guy.
He seems cool on tv, except his budget has at least 6 more zeroes after the front numbers then I do.....
He makes my skin crawl. I don't know why, but occassionally you see or meet someone you don't trust from the get go. I avoid that show like the plague.

Met him at the Newport Concours a few years ago and went to a Cars and Coffee event at F40 a couple of years ago.
Nice guy, but I still get the feeling he only wants to talk to the millionaire/billionaire players that he deals with on his show.
Regardless, he has a VERY enviable job.
By seeing the cars around his business on TV, I don't think he deals with just million/billionaires. He just knows where the money is and that's what they show on TV.
When working with my uncle who dealt with several million/billionaires through his antique car restoration business, you'd be surprised how many of those guys were genuinely nice and would give you the time of day, sit, have a cup of coffee, and shoot the E36 M3 with you.
It's amazing to me how he knows exactly what a car should cost and what it could sell for. I guess that's just years of experience. I'd love to flip cars like that, but I think every rusty, twisted RWD Toyota from the 70s and 80s is worth a fortune. They should be, but somehow, everyone else doesn't agree with me.

Wow I think the exact opposite of him.
Also he pulled rank at a auction I was buying at, phone-in not in person, on a hillclimb special car. Reserve comes off by him at I think 65K, thinking that someone would start the bidding back up again. Absolutely no response, then starts flinging his hands around like he never called off the reserve. Buyer thought he had scored huge, the 4 cam in the car was worth a solid 100K in the condition it was in let alone the rest of the car.
I know the car that you're talking about! Didn't know he owned it though.

I would agree with some of that. Even on the show he thinks something is worth X amount of dollars, then when it doesn't sell for what get thinks, he gets bent out of shape. But on that note, being in the business he is in, I could understand his frustration when something doesn't sell for the for the estimated price.
I grew up about 10 min from F40, I still get whiplash when driving by. I loved the 288 GTO they had there for a while.
I chatted with him at the PVGP this year, but I had no idea who he was until a friend explained.
I don't really watch TV.
Seemed like any other guy with a neat car but there's lots of them at the Pittsburgh event.
Carini's Tojeiro-Climax at PVGP

I'm not a fan of that show at all, but that green Climax is spectacular.
I like his show but my wife thinks he acts like a male appendage. I think he has maybe the best job in the world.

IIRC the bid did not get to 65k. It stalled at 62.5, but the auction house jumped the gun.

Wheeler Dealers did a Dino 308 and it was said a distributor cap was like 300 british pounds! I guess that is payback for the cost of Rolls Royce and Bentley parts.
In reply to spitfirebill:
Ours cost more! $558 for a cap!
Wayne Carini will be my first call after hitting the Powerball. Yes, before I call my wife.
