Neighbor lady is your classic bad neighbor, so it was with great pleasure that I got to watch her car go away. I turned on my outside lights grabbed a lawn chair and a beer and went outside to watch the show. Made sure she knew I was watching and enjoying every minute of it. Only regret was the batteries were dead in the camera when I grabbed it, but I acted like I was taking pics anyway. Tomorrow is going to be a good day.

She sounds like the kind of person that would mess your E36 M3 up.

I saw that a couple of years ago. Girl down the street had a Mustang that got Repoed.. they came in the middle of the night and snagged it and only stopped up the block near my place to strap it down

Had a repo company come onto the property once. We have 12 city blocks fenced. There its nothing to make you think its not private property. I do not allow repossessions. I don't support not paying bills, but its my job to protect property and life. It was actually quite humerus (hotlink picture of bone here). They tried all their tricks. Being quick (didn't work) not leaving (getting my handcuffs out got them moving) threatened to call the police (I supported their proposition), then they left.

Last year my neighbor hit and runned my house. Yes, with his truck. I enjoyed first, watching him get summoned, then foreclosed upon. That makes up for there dent in my house and the rut in there front yard.

I saw a guy get arrested outside my favorite diner yesterday. Deputies eating there saw him panhandling in the parking lot, went out to tell him to shove off, got a bunch of verbal abuse instead, so they called the cops (it was in the city) and handed him off to them.

I was surprised by the amount of jovial chatting and enthusiastic hand-sanitizer sharing that went on for a good 10 minutes after they put him in the car. Reminded me that I do NOT want the job where I have to shove dirty people in my car all day long.

For those that didn't see the other thread, I bought a foreclosure in Feb. A week after we moved in, there was a knock at the door. Big guy standing there, tow truck in the cul-de-sac. SWMBO says, "..I thought you said there wasn't an HOA here!" (four of our five are in the driveway)

He was looking for the lady that lost the house. Evidently, she hasn't been making her car payments either.

In reply to N Sperlo:

Dude, if the car is getting repossessed and you stop them, you're interfering with the rightful property owners.

Perkele, I'm getting old or something. When I lived in NY I hated the two truck drivers.

I kinda live in the hood, so I just love watching the unmarked tow trucks come through. Its usually a short argument with the owner.

But it is in his gated property.

I am pretty sure trespassing is not legal just because your property is on the premises. Otherwise, I could throw a ball through an open window then legally enter a house without permission. Would be an interesting way for cops to get around search laws...

Yup, unless they have an order signed by a judge, served by the police, they can't enter the premises unless granted permission.

Neighbor across the street a long time ago got hers repopped. Typical crappy neighbor there, too. I saw the tow truck turn in the cul de sac with the lights off, thought 'oh boy, who's getting their E36 M3 ganked tonight?' and one of the guys jumped out, ran to their house and used a pen flashlight to read the VIN. I'm not normally one to delight in the misfortunes of others, but this pair was so obnoxious that I made an exception and was giggling in delight. They backed into the driveway, popped the lift under the back tires and picked it up, then tried to drive out. It was a Mazda Protege so it was FWD and in Park, so there was all kinds of racket and then one tire jumped the hook, made a helluva bang and that's when the porch light went on. But damn, instead of a screaming fight the husband just got their crap out of the car and gave them the keys.

Got awakened one Sunday morning by all KINDS of crashing noises at my back door, I jumped out of bed and ran to the kitchen of the apartment, there was some woman I had never seen in my life beating on the back door WITH AN AX HANDLE. By this time my GF was up, I sent her to call the cops and asked this crazy woman what the hell she was doing. It turned out the girl who lived across the street from me was shtupping this girl's husband and she had gotten the addresses mixed up. I told her to go away before the cops got there and she did. Whew.

answered the phone at my Mom's home one day while visiting ... voice starts yelling at me how he's put a contract out on me and I'd better stop banging his wife ... I started laughing .... puzzled voice on the other end asking what's so funny ... that he's going to have me killed

I pointed out to him that he must have mis-dialed ... I wasn't screwing anyone's wife and furthermore if she was a ugly as he sounded I wouldn't if paid to ....

dead silence for a few seconds .. then a meek voice said he was sorry that he obviously had mis dialed ... then ... click ....

Which was always fun explaining to the Billy Badass repo guys who showed up. I couldn't tell you how many times direct and overt threats were made. My favorite was the dude who caught a weapons charge, after he pulled up his shirt to show the pistol in his waist band.

We did have a cop come out with a repo guy one time, (apparently owner of the repo firm was a former LEO) and had the nurse whose car was getting repossessed screamed at ME during the whole operation.

She kept saying that she'd have me fired, and I'd finally had enough.

I asked, "Am I your accountant?"

She gave me a confused look.

"Because I'm fairly certain its not my job to make sure you pay your bills."

Good times.

Any job where you wash your hands before you use the bathroom is a good time.

I would have arrested him myself after holding him at gunpoint waiting for backup. Haven't had to use my gun and don't want to, but brandishing is a felony.

If I allowed the tow truck (camel towing) to take the vehicle, my car would be getting repoed next. Catch my drift?
