Even though I bought if a few months early, technically my latest guitar was my birthday/Chanukah present to myself but tonight I snuck in another distortion pedal. (I decided to put some Amazon gift cards to use.) I did get some cool books and CDs from my wife and family, too.
Mom and dad hit a deer in her Passat 6 weeks ago, and that evening, she told me she wanted a "kangaroo catcher" for her car. I got her a retired P71 push bar, cleaned it up, painted "Deer Slayer" on the front, and gave it one "kill" mark. Got a really nice sequence of pictures as she opened it; "I have no idea what this is... wtf is that... I know what that looks like, but that doesn't make sense... wait... haha, I did ask for that, didn't I". I took the pictures with mom's camera, or I'd post them.
I was thrilled to get a HF gift card, there's no better gift for me!

My wife got me these after me complaining about the stupid Eco-friendly ones. Shhhh, they are illegal in PA!

Wife found a cheap miata hardtop in Dallas. I had to go get it...and of course the miata it was meant for was in pieces in my garage.
Cue me driving 55mph on a 75mph highway, miata hardtop hanging halfway out of the trunk of my Corolla. Lots of passersby with "WTF" faces. On the upside, I got great gas mileage that trip!

your wife got some nice jugs, my friend.
I was naughty. I bought myself an RX-7.
Last year I got my bud the 2 day car control course at the BMW Performance Center. It was a combined Christmas/Birthday present. The down side was he had to suffer through spending 2 days in a car with me because I went too. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/laugh-18.png)
Actually, my wife might have gotten the best part of that deal! I was away for 2.5 days and it didn't cost her a penny. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/evil-18.png)

Bacon wrapped cheese steak sounds pretty good. As for me, Olive Garden can kiss my ass.

Ok, I was looking for another thread, but this is troof. I have never eaten at an olive garden that I didn't have to take a massive blowout E36 M3 (not the fun kind), before I paid the berkeleying check. It took me three times before I learnt my lesson. This is one case where "it ain't the drinkin' son".

Available from this guy...

I bought both my and my wife's wedding rings from him. I talked with him about custom design and everything and he made them for us. This guy is awesome. I have no affiliation, other than a couple of business transactions, but I HIGHLY recommend him.
That's freakin cool. So I dug this one up trying to find the thread where I mentioned buy my son a Traxxas Slash for Christmas. And how it would blow his berkeleying mind.
Well, it didn't.
At first.
He was more interested in his legos at first (which I'm sorta proud of to be honest with you), but then he began to screw around with the truck, and it took big time. He was out in the snow today with short sleeve t shirt on doing donuts in the driveway. Not sure if any of this driving skill E36 M3 translates to his 16 year old situation, but I've got a few years, and that driving experience thing to work it all out.

Awesome. Mine broke his within 10 minutes of running it. Next day went to the store and we replaced the broken part. Within 10 minutes of running he broke a different part. Next day after I replaced that part he broke the rear uprights sliding sideways into a curb within 10 minutes of running it in a store parking lot. It was fine for a week or two and then there was a weird whining noise from the back, took it down to the gears, cleaned it out and packed with new grease and it's been great since. It's a blast but damn if it wasn't a needy bitch the first few times.
Arai Profile helmet. My brothers were like" you're not starting with a E36 M3ty helmet you'll hate." Nice knowing they were willing to shell out almost $400 on my head.
