Just like the title says, any good games for the X-box 360 Kinect for dad? Not sure I want to play the Kinect style games as they seem to be annoying watching my kids, and the sensor not seeing them all the time. Maybe it is the way our living room is set up?

By the way Santa brought this special one that looks like R2-D2, and has a C3PO controller. It is sweet, and makes R2 noises when powered on or off, and opening the tray!!! Santa had a good year!

Skyrim. It hasn't been out of my 360 in a couple months!

Also, Borderlands, Forza 4, Burnout Paradise, GTA IV, the Gears of War games... I could go on and on.

My kids have the same problem with the Kinect sensor. I don't really have that problem, so I think it has to do with little arms and little legs

Definitely need to clear everything out of the playing space to avoid obstructions.

At least when the kids play on it for hours, they are usually worn out and out of breathe

Forza - both 4 and Horizon. Halo series is also good. Really enjoying Halo 4, and I absolutely loved Halo Reach.

These, Sleeping Dogs, I'm not getting the new COD, battlefield, Portal, Assassin's Creed, Dragon Age, Dirt, and maybe I'll add some more as I think.

Forza and Halo ! (almost any of them...I haven't played Forza Horizon or Halo 4 yet). I always enjoy the Halo levels where you get to drive the Scorpion tank and blast things into dust.

I also like Portal if you are into puzzly stuff that still involves some shooting.

Some of the Need for Speed games are fun (not as realistic as Forza). Project Gotham Racing series is fun too, slightly less realistic than Forza, the Dirt series is decent.

I can't think of others at the moment, but there are lots of good ones, some are at least worth renting if you don't want to shell out the bucks to buy them too :)

Like RexSeven said, depends on what you're into or what you've already played. That being said, if you haven't played any games during the last 10yrs.:

Red Dead Redemption. Don't just watch a Spaghetti Western..be in one.

Assassin's Creed. If you haven't played it before, start with the first one. Gameplay's kind of repetitive, but the story's good.

And yeah, Forza 4.

I got Madden 13 for XBOX last week - still trying to memorize all the button assignments and when they change, which is often... So far I'm not thrilled with the new Coaching mode compared to the previous Franchise mode, I really could care less about "making cuts", trading deadlines, salary cap, and all that crap. If I wanted to do that stuff I'd just play in a fantasy league online somewhere, just let me play pre-season, season, and hopefully a post-season with my team of choice! [/rant]

Otherwise the gameplay graphics are awesome (cut scene physics and modeling are still a bit odd), and I actually like the new play-by-play calling by Nantz and Simms and don't even mind the occassional plug for Papa John's, Verizon or whatever. The kids even commented it was like they were watching a real game!

Not a big gamer, but my old Xbox was full of Colin Mcrae Rally versions and GTA.

My girlfriend has a 360, so Dirt3 was a definite. Also the Lego games are good, Star Wars in particular. I also bought a cheap copy of Space Marine since I dabbled in the WarHammer 30K game a bit.

+1. PS3 here but same/same

I got it for my oldest son... he is otherwise distracted... but I am wasting my life away after everyone else in the house goes to bed. It is damn addictive.

There are tons of good games. What do you like to play? I would consider some of the older games to start out with, because their just as good an cheap. Halo 3, Forza 3, Burnout whatever, Borderlands 1 (get the game of the year edition). That is a good start.

Birds of Steel. Great WWII aviation game. About 1/2 way between a flight sim and an "arcade style" dogfighting game. Great graphics and a decent physics model. On line play is pretty fun too. Disclaimer: I'm playing the PS3 version, but have heard similar good things about the Xbox.

when looking for older games always try to find game of the year edition or platinum hits version. seems like they usually include all the DLC packs.

+1 on Rockstar Games (Grand theft auto, Red Dead Redemption), Fallout Series, Forza Series......

those are the ones I spend all my time on, I dont have time to play much else.

Personally, can't freaking stand games like fallout. I got whatever one came out a couple years ago for xmas. Played for probably 10 hours cumulatively waiting for it to get good. I just can't stand the gameplay on that type of game (whatever it's called...not sure if it qualifies as a 1st person shooter, but I can't stand those berkeleying things.) It's just not my thing.

But yeah, I LOVE the Rockstar games. I think GTA San Andreas is probably my favorite game of all time, though mine froze about 3/4 of the way through the game, and kept freezing at the same spot, even when I started from a different save.

Also, Wife and I really enjoyed an occasional weekend of Fable till you puke.

Anything made by Bethesda is a win. Skyrim, Fallout, Rage, etc.

Gearbox's Borderlands is also a lot of fun, especially with two players.
