Just curious if anyone does a Killboy type thing at ski/snowboarding runs? Have a friend heading out west in a couple weeks and the question popped into my mind.

Had to Google it myself but a guy who hangs out on the TOTD and takes photos of all the passing cars that you can then buy nice copies of off his website. https://www.killboy.com/.
I've only seen this at race tracks and such but don't see why you couldn't use the business model at a ski resort. Though without an observation deck or high powered lense you'd have to buy a lift ticket everyday and have to pack in and pack out your gear. I have seen like a redbull crew, local shop, demo tent where they're taking pics for their own athlete or person for marketing. Also seen someone hired to take family photos on a mountain.
I've seen it - I think in Telluride but it might have been Crested Butte. They're basically standing in the middle of a run shooting against a good background.
I've also seen it in Moab, roaming photogs that get pictures of you being a mountain bike hero and sell you the photos. Moab Action Shots is the company IIRC.

Lift tickets are no problem if you have an ikon pass, which you kind of need nowadays.

Sorry, once I saw Purple Frog's response confirming my suspicions that if anyone is doing it it is probably the resorts/owners, I forgot to check back. Johndej got it though, somebody on the side taking pics and posting them in an online market.
I wasn't thinking of it as a potential business opportunity for me, but was wondering if I could surprise my buddy with an "action shot" while I wasn't even there. He needs a little paranoia in his life...

Ha Ha, I could have used someone like that back 40 years ago before I retired from sports because of a back injury. I only learned how to ski on an ice covered hill and never learned how to really turn. It was straight down hill hell or high water on long giant slalom Rossignol skies. Great wipe outs, just like my water skiing.
I'm pretty sure the folks I've seen doing it are not employed directly by the resort. They almost definitely have some cooperation from them, but it wasn't the resort doing it.
Ha, it's Elevation Imaging and they operate at both Telluride and Crested Butte.
