Yesterday we had a nice little ice storm. Driving home 35 miles in freezing rain and sleet was a little tense for sure, but the whole way home I was watching my hood ornament collecting ice. I shot this picture after I got home
Unfortunately I had been searching for the memory card for the camera for almost 10 minutes. In that time a good bit of the ice melted from the radiant heat. Oh well, still kinda cool I think.
Very cool!! Ice does weird stuff. When we had the big ice storm here in Texas, I was working and we had this come in...

Literally cool. Lucky for me it doesn't ice around here much.

Hmmm, the novelty wears off after a while, trust me.

Wow man, that wheel has me beat. I've never seen that before.

I have...it sucks. I once had to drive 3 hours through sleet. I had to pull over at least 7 times to chip ice from the windshield. By the time I got to the Sno*Drift Rally I had a full 2 inches of ice on the front of the grille and side mirrors.

The Pontiac wheels got like that a few weeks ago, but I couldn't get a good enough shot at night with my cell phone camera.
It was the first time I've ever seen it, and believe me I see plenty of winter driving.
I have on multiple occasions filled the wheel wells up with ice to the point where steering inputs sharper than a lane change don't happen.
Here is my ice picture...with GRM sticker!

Are said "cool" pictures in the Hotlink thread?
Ah, okay, that's what "ice" is!
<==== Californian
I have had that wheel thing a couple of times.
Driving and staring at your hood ornament is not cool.
I don't even want to think about just how spoiled I've become. Both my wife and I have become very much acclimated to the coziness of our attached garage. The danger lies in the fact that it is very easy to go from your house to your nice warm car and forget your coat and not realize it until you are many miles from home in frigid cold weather. I know I'll get a lot of sympathy here.
That wheel shot is crazy cool.
I didn't take pix of the driveshaft, it was all spikey too. I think the high that day was 26, and there was ice and snow everywhere. Couldn't believe people were actually driving in it.
That is darn cool. Ice cold in fact!

In a situation like that do they cancel the event, or extend it for an extra races ??
Cool till your wings stop working and you fall out of the sky.

It was the night before. By the next morning the skies were clear!
