Remember that giant robot I built? Well the brewery I built it for, Tin Man Brewing Company (http://www.tinmanbrewing.com/) is now brewing Klingon beer! They're just brewing it, not distributing it, so I have no idea when and where it will be available, but it's pretty bad ass.

Oh, and they've also agreed to sponsor our race team. Pics to come once we get the vinyl put on the car! Needless to say, they're pretty awesome.
I saw that somewhere on CNN or something. Very cool. I think the article mentioned something about having an aroma that was banana and something else?
Why does it have to be canned beer!?
As long as it is better than the "Romulan Ale" they were giving samples of at the liquor store one time (it was just crap beer with blue coloring).
There's nothing wrong with canned beer these days. The issues with it from the past came from E36 M3ty lining material for the inside, but that has been fixed. Cans provide a lot of benefits: lower cost to manufacture, easier to recycle, easier and cheaper to ship, can be taken and drunk in places that don't allow you to have glass. Cans only have one potential issue for consumers: there is more headspace and no way to evacuate oxygen from them at filling like there is with glass, and this can result in beer aging more quickly. This is a fairly minor issue, although I'd still check out the date stamp to be sure.

No kidding! It was a cool novelty, but not good beer.

Would you trust Klingons with glass?

They actually have a page that addresses that question. http://www.cansarebetter.com/

I could quibble over one or two points in that. Cans are not universally better than bottles. Both have advantages and disadvantages; there are situations where one is better than the other. The short answer is that cans are better for what these guys are doing.
Sierra Nevada is a good yardstick. I have not seen a company more dedicated to the utmost quality of all materials and methods, strenuously researching and analyzing what is best, and willing to change when they discover something better. They package and sell beer in both bottles and cans, because there are different situations where each one will be better.
I saw that beer on Reddit!

I don't like my beer in bottles. It gives it a glassy taste.

Maybe some guys just like it in the can.
Seriously. There are 8 posts about this and not one "in the can" joke. 'cmon... am I the only one working with a 12 year old's sense of humor?
It should taste like prunes. Guinan gave Worf some prune juice and he said it was "a warrior's drink." Am I the only nerd who remembers this?
In reply to Giant Purple Snorklewacker:
You beat me to the punch. Should have thrown in a 'tall boy' reference in there too.
I wonder what they're paying Paramount for royalties...?
lmao i remember going to that Star Trek experience in vegas when they had it, before i lived here, they had some interesting drinks unfortunately I wasn't 21 yet to try any.

That's where I bought the aforementioned Romulan Ale!
The best part of that experience was before I even walked in the door. There were three movie quality Klingons standing outside smoking cigs on their break. Pretty freakin' hilarious.
were they smoking cigarettes... or were they burning off some Klingon death sticks that put off an aroma that would please Kahless the Unforgettable and help them in battle?
